Paneer jalfrezi is a quick and a healthy recipe. Paneer, capsicum and onion are cooked in a tomato puree (I made with ground paste of onion and tomato). It goes well with roti/ naan and pulao.
Onion – 1 diced
Tomato – 1 diced
Ginger – 1/2 inch (julienne)
G&Gpaste – 1 Tbsp
Onion – 1/2 cubed
Colored capsicum – 1 cubed
Cherry tomatoes – 4 (optional)
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1.5 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
Ketchup – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, add onions and saute until translucent. Add ginger & garlic paste and saute for 2 mins.
Step 2: Add tomato and cook until mushy, then add all the masala powder and saute well. Cool the masala and grind to a smooth paste.
Step 3: Heat oil in the same pan. Add cumin seeds, ginger, onion, capsicum, salt and saute for 2 mins.
Step 4: Stir in the ground paste, ketchup and water if required.
Step 5: Add paneer, cherry tomatoes& garam masala. Cover lid and cook for 5 mins. Garnish with cilantro.
- If you prefer this recipe dry add less water or no water.
- You may add vegetables of your choice.
