This is simple yet classic delicacy. The orange zest adds essence to the cake. This cake is moist and will melt in your mouth. Perfect for a morning breakfast or as a dessert. Kids will love this cake for it’s flavour and taste.

Oranges – 2 large
Orange zest – 1 tsp
Orange juice (from 2 oranges)
All-purpose flour – 1 cup
Granulated sugar – 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Baking soda – 1/8 tsp
Whole milk yogurt – 1/2 cup
Canola oil – 1/4 cup
Vanilla extract – 1/2 tsp
Egg – 1 large
Pinch of salt
Step 1: In a large bowl, add sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and whisk once.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, add yogurt, oil, grated orange zest, orange juice, egg, vanilla extract and whisk until combined.
Step 3: Pour the yogurt mixture into the flour mixture and stir until combined. Grease baking pan with butter and dust with flour and transfer the cake mix.
Step 4: Preheat oven to 350ºF (175ºC ) and bake the cake for 20-25 mins until the tester comes out clean.
- For accompaniment, add orange segments in the mixture of 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp orange juice.
- You can dust the cake with confectioner’s sugar while serving.
